FSS Team Members Present at the Alliance 2007 Conference in Orlando
The Financials Support Services Team (FSS) is proud to announce that five FSS team members presented at the Alliance 2007 Conference, March 11 -14 at Disney’s Coronado Springs and Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. Alliance is an annual event for all higher education, government, and public sector users of Oracle applications. The conference is organized and managed by the Higher Education User Group (www.heug.org), a non-profit organization that provides a forum for sharing information and experience among Higher Education customers of PeopleSoft and other Oracle products.
This was the fifth year that the FSS Team was represented at Alliance , and this year our team brought an exceptionally unique body of knowledge to the event. As a 2006 participant in the Oracle Early Success Program (ESP), UCF was among the first higher education institutions in the world to implement the new PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials version 8.9. The ESP experience provided our team with a first-look at the upgraded software, and the opportunity to work closely with Oracle to provide resolutions for any issues that arose in this first implementation of the new version. As a result, the presentations delivered by FSS team members were a “must see” for conference attendees.
Please join us in recognizing our FSS team members for their winning conference proposals on the following topics:
- Early Implementation of 8.9 Procurement Cards
– Dorann Mullins
- The REN (Real-Time Event Notification) Server in Financials 8.9
– John Le
- Automation of Department and Project setup via External System Integration
– Varsha Das
- Birds of a Feather: Topics of interest to Trainers and Help Desk Personnel
– Rebecca Vilsack and Mark Wray
Also, for the second consecutive year, Rebecca Vilsack and Mark Wray teamed up with Richard Pike of Georgetown University to manage the Training & End User Support track for the Alliance conference. The trio worked together to solicit more than 50 proposal submissions for their track, and recruited a team of 16 volunteers to assist with the review and selection of the 29 presentations and workshops that will be offered this year.
Rebecca and Mark will continue their roles next year as Track Chair and Assistant Track Chair (respectively). We congratulate them on their accomplishments and wish them continued success for the Alliance 2008 conference – scheduled to take place in Las Vegas , Nevada .
