Five FSS Employees Honored With Esteemed Davis Award

Davis Productivity AwardsFive Financials Support Services (FSS) team members were presented with a Davis Productivity Award plaque on June 13, 2007 at the awards luncheon held at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Orlando. The Davis Productivity Awards is an annual program that publicly recognizes and rewards Florida state government employees and work units who have significantly increased productivity in delivering state services and products. The 2007 awards competition attracted about 503 nominations for innovations and productivity improvements.

The five FSS team members, Kristal Jackson, Dorann Mullins, Hector Santos, Rebecca Vilsack and Doantrang Vu, were recognized for re-designing, programming, and implementing a streamlined data warehouse system (DataMart). This improved the ability of departments and project managers at the University of Central Florida to gain a comprehensive view of activity against department and project budgets by accessing actual and encumbrance transaction details, and summary budget positions, in one place.

Two other Financials Support Services teams received awards. A team consisting of Regino Besana, Varsha Das, Kristal Jackson, John Le, Fred Leblanc, Dorann Mullins, Asim Rehman, Bradley Smith, Elena Wilson, Mark Wray, Rebecca Vilsack, and Doantrang Vu was awarded a Certificate of Commendation for “Successfully Upgraded Financials System with Significant Cost Savings.” Another team comprised of Rebecca Vilsack and Varsha Das received a Certificate of Commendation for “Negotiated Early Success Partnership with Financials System Vendor.”
