Project LIFTOFF Team Presents at HEUG Conference in
Atlanta
Project
LIFTOFF team members delivered seven presentations to
PeopleSoft customers at the recent 2004 Higher Education
User Group (HEUG) conference in Atlanta. HEUG is a not-for-profit
organization created six years ago when PeopleSoft released
its first higher education specific products. The annual
HEUG conference attracts more than 3,500 attendees who
come together to share experiences and to learn from their
colleagues.
Those conducting presentations at the conference were
Rebecca Vilsack, Regino Besana, Varsha Das, Dorann Mullins,
Dan Mayo, John Moody, Brad Smith, and Elena Wilson. The
presentations covered the following topics: (1) demonstrating
a unique method of creating automatic financial reports
and publishing them on MyUCF Portal; (2) sharing tips
for how to develop a seamless interface between Student
Financials (SF) and General Ledger (GL); (3) explaining
how UCF uses locally written programs to generate checks
for vendor payments and student financial refunds; (4)
outlining how to extract data on a daily basis from the
organization's procurement card vendor; (5) demonstrating
the use of common tools to add spreadsheet functionality
such as chartfield lookup and chartfield combo preediting;
and (6) summarizing a software interface that improves
the process of asset inventory.
"Our team did an excellent job during the presentations,"
said Rebecca Vilsack. "The opportunity for information
sharing at the HEUG conference is an important component
of PeopleSoft technical support, and we look forward to
future involvement. "
