Seven FSS Team Members Presented at the Annual PeopleSoft
Higher Education User Group Conference
For
the third consecutive year, the Financials Support Services
(FSS) team submitted proposals to present at the Higher
Education User Group (HEUG) conference. This year, six
proposals were accepted for presentation. HEUG is a not-for-profit
organization created seven years ago when PeopleSoft released
its first products designed specifically for use in higher
education settings. The annual HEUG conference attracts
more than 3,500 attendees who come together to share experiences
and to learn from their colleagues.
At this year’s conference, held March 21-24 in
Las Vegas, seven team members presented or co-presented
on topics such as:
1. Using Application Messaging to more tightly integrate
UCF Financials with the Student Administration and Human
Resource systems.
2. Developing a unique method the FSS team used to recreate
UCF’s purchase orders for the new fiscal year.
3. Designing Financials training using WebCT as a delivery
platform.
4. Designing a comprehensive Financials training program
to support over 1,000 end-users.
5. Describing the cost savings UCF realized by using
Asset Advantage software and portable scanning equipment
to avoid the costly retagging of assets and locations.
6. Using Component Interface to accomplish the PO Rollover
process at fiscal year-end.
Also at this year’s HEUG, Becky Vilsack and Mark
Wray accepted additional responsibilities as co-chairs
for the Training and End-User Support track. They will
be actively involved in soliciting presentations for this
track at next year’s HEUG Conference in Nashville,
Tennessee, and in determining which presentations are
ultimately selected.
